We’ve discovered that quite a few students don’t like Kawan as much as some of the other things our team participates in during the week. I like the idea of Kawan, I like the people running it and the people there. I like the hope that’s there. However, 13 volunteers is too many. It’s not that we don’t like it, but we get told to talk to others, generally everyone that’s talking are the only ones that want to talk. Then in the kitchen they need helpers but only about 4. Then there are still a few left over. They always tell us to go pray upstairs, but when the leaders come up and complain at us about sitting there, then we feel there’s no way to win. So, I really don’t like it, I just don’t like not being able to do anything. This Wednesday I made it into the kitchen on time to be able to help in there.
Wednesday nights I normally go with this one lady to the prostitutes and just talk with them. She likes to have people regularly going so the prostitutes will be able to build relationships rather than having new people all the time. She’s been going for 4 years now. But this week she wasn’t there, so my group just wandered the streets. That wasn’t worth talking about.
Friday morning’s worship has now been moved to Thursday mornings, but much longer. It’s from 8:00 until I believe 10:30. The beginning half is worship, and the other half is intersession. It was really great, especially as the first time. Plus the have snacks in between. Awesome!
Friday mornings have now been titled “Organic Time” of planning now just on the spot. The main theme is just spending time together as a team. However, this time we started with splitting into guys and girls because we haven’t had community chat yet (just talking with each other, catching up). Since we haven’t been sleeping well we went into one of the rooms and began praying over it. After minutes of that, we started our deeper chat. Some of us have been feeling distant, because of the wall separating us. They allowed us girls to just go hangout for the day.
Saturday’s youth was awesome, yet again. We have small group times within part of the youth. I’m with Keeley, and this week our girls are really starting to open things up to some really big things. It’s so cool. Only 3 weeks and they’re interested in talking to us.
Sunday again, was tiring. All of us have a hard time with the Sunday School. Kids are alright, but when there are huge bunches of screaming I don’t find it too fun personally.
